Greg Friese is a public safety strategist, educator, and nationally registered paramedic who helps EMS and public safety organizations translate complex operational challenges into clear, usable training and communications that improve performance. Greg began his career as an EMT at a rural department in far northern Wisconsin and later worked in suburban and urban systems as a paramedic, experience that ground his work in the day-to-day realities of field operations and system constraints.
With more than 25 years in public safety and professional education, Greg is known for bringing structure to ambiguity by aligning stakeholders, clarifying priorities, and producing deliverables that leaders can implement quickly and sustain over time. His consulting work spans stakeholder survey design, analysis, and presentation of findings; external and internal communications assessment and development; and the design of professional development and clinical education programs, including curriculum and evaluation tools. He also specializes in incident analysis by distilling lessons learned into training products and communications packages that support organizational learning, risk reduction, and readiness. As an in-person and virtual facilitator and host, Greg designs and leads events and programs that move groups from discussion to decisions, whether in workshops, panels, leadership sessions, or community-facing forums. Greg is also an early and practical adopter of AI tools, integrating them into training and business operations through structured workflows, prompt libraries, and quality controls that increase speed without sacrificing rigor.
In his most recent executive role, Greg served as Editorial Director at Lexipol, leading editorial strategy and program execution across four national public safety brands (Police1, FireRescue1, Corrections1, and EMS1). His work has included scaling accredited education, building repeatable content and production systems, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive measurable audience engagement and qualified lead generation.
Greg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a master’s degree from the University of Idaho. He has been a National Registry paramedic since 2005 and has earned multiple honors for innovation and specialized journalism, including the EMS 10 Award and multiple Jesse H. Neal and Eddie awards. Outside of work, he’s an avid trail runner who has completed multiple ultramarathons and also enjoys skiing, canoeing, and hiking. He brings an educator’s mindset, an editor’s precision, and an operator’s respect for the realities of the job, making him a strong fit for projects that require credible subject-matter expertise, disciplined execution, and clear communication.
